After showing Amit about the leg model that I completed he told me that it looks great but he just has one issue with it, it's the foot plates, they just look too plane and he wants me to redesign the armor plates for the foot only.

Here is the current design for the foot:

After he pointed out this flaw I realized that it also looks too plane so I researched on how robotic foots look like.

Amit also asked me to add the bolts for the armor platings, he asked me if I knew how to model a bolt, and told him I didn't. He sat with me and taught me how to model a bolt and also taught me a new technique after creating the bolt. The technique he taught me is called "Select and Place" it's where you are able to select a model like the bolt for example and you select a certain area in another object which is the armor plate and the bolt automatically attaches itself to the certain area in the armor plate that you selected. Here is the bolt that Amit created:

Once I got home, I modeled the bolt, and followed the way Amit showed me during our class, here is what I did:

During this week we also had a Movie Screening, the movie that we watched is called Gantz: O.

It is a 3D animated movie with visual effects. The movie is about people who have recently died but are brought back to life by a mysterious spherical being called GANTZ and they are supplied with high-tech weapons in order to defeat an army of monsters in Tokyo and Osaka.

This film out of all the movie screenings we've had every trimester since I started here in SAE, to me, this is the best one we've had. I really loved this movie especially the animation and visual effects were both amazing.

Some of the scenes from the movie like this particular scene in the beginning looked so real, I bet if this was shown to someone who has not seen the movie yet, they would not realize that those are 3D models.

The lighting through out the movie were really well done as well, especially the lighting in the city and the camera angles were also showed great depth.

The giant robot in the film that fought with the giant bull like monster looked so awesome, the way it was modeled and the glow effect of it's armor parts looked really amazing. I'm thinking a taking an inspiration from this glow effect as texture for the side plating of the joint cylinders of the leg model.

I also noticed the visual effects of the scene when this guy:

Showed up and got repeatedly smashed in a certain spot which then created a pull of blood, that pull of blood looked so real, the VFX aspect was really well done.

One thing that I really liked about the movie as well is the character build up of the boss, he started of to this scrawny looking old man that looked really week then to a weird looking giant lady made up of multiple naked females (that transformation looked really weird btw lol) then to a demon like creature with horns and the final one that looked like a Shinigami (Shinigami are gods or supernatural spirits that invite humans toward death, and can be seen to be present or interpreted to be present in certain aspects of Japanese religion and culture).

From looking like a mere human being to a god like being, that character build up was amazingly well written.

Here are the transformation in order:

1st Boss Form
2nd Boss Form
3rd Boss Form
Final Boss Form

This particular scene also really also fascinated me, the camera angle was really well done.

It's like the director of the film is trying to show a message with the difference of a god like creature and a mere human being.

All in all this film was really blew me away, I even re watched it when I got home later that night while I was having dinner.
