Once I arrived back here in UAE, I started working right away on the task that I was not able to complete during week 7 because of my laptops' incapability of running Substance.

When I started texturing in Friday's laptop I encountered a problem where Natasha's unwrap of the astronauts' suit could not be textured in Substance because some parts of the unwraps where I tried texturing were not were not getting textured in Substance.

Natasha's Unwrap:

So I researched for a way where I could unwrap a faster since there was not much time left to normally unwrap the suit. While I was researching, one of my colleagues Fahed, saw what I was having trouble with, he suggested another way of unwrapping faster which is unwrapping the model in Zbrush. I asked for his assistance and so he guided me through the process of unwrapping the model in Zbrush.

This is the new unwrap that I did for the suit:

I was able to use this for texturing in Substance Painter.

I also learned how to export textures from Substance Painter and Import them into 3Ds Max.

You can export the textures from substance by clicking Ctrl+Shift+E or Files> Export Textures in Substance Painter once you're done texturing.

Then this window will pop up:

At the Export tab:

Blue- Change to Vray

Yellow- Change to targa Green- Change to Dilation + Transparent

Also set the path of where the textures will be exported to, you can set that right above Blue.

At the Configuration tab, set the presets to Vray.

After university, I went with Murtaza and asked him if he could teach me CAT rig because the CAT rig that he did for the astronaut had some functioning problems and there was an excess bone on the spine and some problem with the bones on the fingers, so the model needed to get rigged again. Murtaza agreed to teach me CAT rig and I was able to Rig the astronaut again overnight.

Here is a video of the finalized CAT rig that I did for the astronaut:

After doing the CAT rig I also skinned the astronaut using Voxel.

Once I arrived in university I started texturing the astronaut suit, helmet, control module, and life support.

Here are the textures I did:

Suit & Helmet texture:

Life Support Texture:

Control Module Texture:

Here is what it looks like once after applying it to the astronaut in 3ds max:

I also did our major presentation slides overnight:

After our presentation, we got feedback from the class and our lecturers. The feedback from the class was that, the chocolate bar needed more depth and the character's eyebrows needed work.

The feedback from our lecturers:

Rashed- We needed to work on our final scene, The astronaut needs to be doing something in the background, like maybe struggling again from getting the chocolate bar.

Helgi- We need a close up product shot, try adding that shot once the chocolate bar falls from the astronauts' suit. The lighting of the moons surface is a bit too bright, try adjusting it a little bit.

Amit- Fix the characters eyebrows, a character models eyerbows should not be extruded from the model itself.

After the presentations, we had a group meeting and talked about the feedbacks we recieved and what we should do to apply those feedbacks to our commercial.

I had my KPI consultation with Amit.

During my KPI meeting with him, he told me to improve on 3 things:

- Effective Communication Skills

- Time Management Abilities

- Flexibility/ Adaptability

After we talked about my KPI, I asked Amit for advice about the character if either we should try and fix it or just remodel the whole character, he chose to just remodel the character and advised that we try and model Neil Armstrong himself.

I also asked him about the chocolate bar regarding the feedback from the class, and he showed me on spot how a chocolate bar should be modeled. I also consulted him regarding the chocolate bars graphic and he taught me a short lesson about branding with products.

After my consultation with Amit, I consulted our GD at the student lounge, and asked him if he could make some changes with the graphic of the bar and explained to him exactly what Amit explained to me of how branding should be done with products. He agreed with the changes that should be done and said he would get back to me by today.

Earlier we had a group meeting in a coffee shop Dubai mall, and I explained to everyone what Amit wanted us to do about the Character, Natasha agreed to creating the character from scratch and actually try and model Neil Armstrong (In our commercial his name is Kneel Forearmstrong). She asked if I could help her with remodeling and I agreed. So during our whole meeting in Dubai mall, me and Natasha worked on the new model of the character (She did majority of the re modeling from scratch, I just guided her through some parts of how certain parts regarding proportions of the face should be).
